DeJeana Chappell
.
DeJeana Chappell is a Master of Architecture student currently completing her thesis semester at Cornell University, graduating this December, 2013. Her thesis investigates the immediacy of change, dynamism, flexibility and interaction within the context of seasonality; she aims to revitalize the shopping experience for the 21st century consumer by embracing technology and the effects of external and internal responsiveness. She poses the question...how can architecture ignite one's 5 senses?

DeJeana is in her second year serving NOMA as its National Student Representative. NOMA has provided DeJeana with a platform for student outreach as well as an opportunity to make an impact on a larger scale as it relates to diversity and advocacy in the field of architecture.  As a liaison between the student body of NOMAS and the NOMA Board of Directors, DeJeana champions the student perspective and works to create an open dialogue with participating NOMAS chapters.

DeJeana's undergraduate studies were in Finance and Entrepreneurship, and her professional background offers compelling work experience in technology consulting, sales and business development. As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®), she aspires to work at a capacity which combines her interests in design with corporate strategy, real estate and project management.

DeJeana was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, is a lady of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and in her "spare" time, she's a certified Spinning® instructor and teaches regular weekly classes on Cornell's campus.
