Sidney Pittman building to be demolished for residential project
Washington, D.C. - Local developers have plans to demolish a modest church structure designed by noted African-American Architect, W. Sidney Pittman, to make way for 26-unit residential project in Northwest DC.  Developer OPal LLC is working with GPS Designs of Northern Virginia for the design. Built in 1905, the 3,100 square foot structure is not on the historical register, but represents the legacy of one of America's earliest black architects.
