Greetings!

REMINDER: LOS ANGELES NOMA CHAPTER MEETING DATE: TUESDAY, AUGUST 11, 2009 TIME: 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM LOCATION: PERKINS + WILL 2ND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM 617 W. 7TH STREET LOS ANGELES, CA 90017(This meeting location is in Downtown Los Angeles at 7th and Hope.) Typically, LANOMA Meetings are every 2nd Tuesday of each month. Last month, in lieu of our meeting, LANOMA members enjoyed the Networking Mixer with APA at Vitality Furniture Showcase with local Planners and Interior Designers. Join the LANOMA Board to discuss Chapter topics and upcoming Events such as:

August 14-15, 2009: Architecture Student Summer Camp. Spaces still available for students and volunteers to help run the camp.
August 22, 2009: LANOMA Picnic
September/October: Celebrating Black Architects: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow Lecture/Panel Discuss Series. The Yesterday segment of the series is being planned for September/October. Learn how you can help the committee with this series.

PARKING: Reasonably priced parking is available in parking lots on Grand Ave between 7th St and 8th St for $3-$5. Use the Parking lots! There are many NO STOPPING ZONES until 7 pm. Be advised that street parking has increased to $4.00 per hour. METRO: The red line 7th St/Metro station is right across the street from the building.

The conference theme, IMPACT: "Creating New Ideas To Bridge The Gaps", respects the core aspirations of the original 12 founders of NOMA, who in, 1971 ambitiously set a course for expanding the academic and professional horizons for a more diverse pool of students and professionals to be successful now and in the future. The conference is an opportunity to reach design professionals that include architecture, engineering, planning, landscape design, contracting and building, urban design, interior design, building operations and maintenance, green or sustainable design and downtown revitalization and economic development officials.
Approximately 1,000 attendees are expected to take part in the event including professionals, college design students, and delegates from all across the world.
We invite anyone that is interested in networking, presenting or reaching members of the construction industry to join us!
