The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA's) ENERGY STAR program and the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) are challenging all architects to design buildings that reduce the energy consumption that contributes to global warming.

Submit Design Projects by August 28
Join the growing number of architects taking the ENERGY STAR Challenge. See if your Office, K-12 School, and other commercial building design projects achieve EPA’s designation for superior energy efficiency–ENERGY STAR, known for qualified products, homes, and commercial building designs.

A/E firms that take the ENERGY STAR Challenge will be recognized at the 2009 NOMA Conference in St. Louis and the 2010 American Institute of Architects (AIA) National Convention in Miami.

Don't forget to attend, at the NOMA Conference, the presentation How Low Can You Go? Targeting Carbon Neutral Design with ENERGY STAR. Check the conference brochure for time and location.

EPA RECOGNIZES ACHIEVEMENTS
75 projects from 47 firms achieved Designed to Earn the ENERGY STAR and were featured at the 2009 AIA National Convention. Collectively, these projects achieved 50 percent fossil fuel energy and CO2 reduction (from an average building), answering EPA’s and industry leaders’ call to fight global warming through energy-efficient building design.
