On September 10, 2021 ACADIA and Autodesk are returning with support for the Barbara G. Laurie Student Design Competition with a special seminar geared specifically towards NOMAS. The details are below.

Environmental Design and Analysis in Early-Stage Planning with Autodesk FormIt

Specially organized for members of NOMA (National Organization of Minority Architects) Student Chapters competing in this year’s 2021 NOMA Student Design Competition. Autodesk is collaborating with ACADIA to provide a series of free engagements exploring FormIt – a web-based interface which allows designers to perform environmental analysis. This web-based platform will allow competition participants to:

• Model or import early stage designs (massing level of detail)

• Assess the energy impact of the building design (using a measure of Energy Use Intensity, one of the standard benchmarks of operational carbon)

• Assess the solar impact of their projects (for example, to drive the use of photovoltaics or glazing)

Attendance is FREE to all NOMAS students participating in the 2021 Competition.

Schedule:
